Goa minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Michael Lobo are likely to quit the party and join the Congress soon, people familiar with the development said on Wednesday. On 4th January Michael Lobo Felicitated Meritorious students and sportsperson of Calangute Village organized by Village Panchayat of Calangute. Talking to the media Lobo Said, Wonderful to see our girls and boys excelling in academics as well as sports, and kudos to the Calangute Panchayat for encouraging them. This event was organized by the Calangute Panchayat to keep the spirits of the children alive.
Further, he added, ”These Meritorious Students have many skills. Some are good in studies some are good in sports. There is a different talent inside every child. Children get more motivated by getting rewarded.”
Lobo, two-time BJP MLA from the Calangute assembly constituency and former Deputy Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, has on more than one occasion been critical of the government that he is a minister in. Goa minister Michael Lobo, who has been rumoured to be looking at exiting the BJP to join the Congress. But till now there is no official announcement from Lobo.
