New Delhi: The festival of Baisakhi was celebrated in the capital, organized by the Young Progressive Sikh Forum (YPSF) at the iconic Bellamonde Hotel. The grand event witnessed a vibrant confluence of culture, music, and social service, attracting several prominent personalities from the fields of politics and community service.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta graced the event as the Chief Guest, alongside Union Minister Manohar Lal and Delhi Government Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Wishing the Punjabi and Sikh communities on the occasion, CM Rekha Gupta shared a light-hearted yet heartfelt remark during her address: “I am Punjabi by nature.”
Highlighting the contribution of the Punjabi community, she added, “Whenever Delhi or the nation has been led by Punjabis, new milestones of progress and development have been achieved.”
Praising the YPSF for organizing a unique and meaningful celebration, CM Gupta said, “I have attended many Baisakhi celebrations over the years, but none like this. It not only reflects cultural richness but also promotes the spirit of unity and brotherhood.”
YPSF President Prabhleen Singh emphasized that their aim goes beyond festivities. “Our mission is to bring society together and pass on our cultural legacy to the younger generation. Baisakhi is not just a festival, it symbolizes our history, hard work, and unity.”
Senior Vice President of YPSF and Chairman of Bellamonde Hotels, Gurmeet Singh, added, “Such events connect the youth with their traditions and also instill in them the value of social responsibility.” He thanked CM Gupta for her presence, saying, “Her inspiring words have energized the youth and added immense value to the event.”
Union Minister Manohar Lal and Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa also extended their Baisakhi greetings, describing the festival as a symbol of hard work, enthusiasm, and solidarity.
The event came alive with traditional Punjabi folk performances including Bhangra, Giddha, and soulful renditions of folk songs. The audience was captivated by the cultural display and lauded the organizers for the grand celebration.
YPSF also announced plans to organize similar events on an even larger scale in the near future.
Notable attendees included Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Baljit Singh Daduwal, Jasdeep Singh, Vijay Satbir Singh, Tarlochan Singh, Tarun Chugh, Anil Sharma, Tarvinder Marwah, Jarnail Singh, and all core members of the YPSF.
