In Goa’s Panaji More Than one hundres of anganwadi workers marched to chief minister Pramod Sawant’s Residence at Altinho on Wednesday evening and continued to camp there in protest till late night. The Women worker’s of anganwadi protesting at Azad Maidan Over The past few days, But their demands have not yet been met. According to reports yet no official came there to discuss their issues.
While protesting in late night, The women present there had not even eaten anything. However, in the meantime, Aam Aadmi Party leader Amit Palekar and others reached Azad Maidan. Talked to the Anganwadi workers and also ate food with them.
Talking to SNI News Agency Aam Aadmi Party leader Amit Palekar said- ‘By the way, it was the responsibility of the police to take care of everyone. But As we came to know that tonight the workers are going to stay here at Azad Maidan. We came here immediately, and made arrangements for everyone’s food. Because these people had come from far away and they did not know that tonight these people would stay here. That’s why they didn’t bring food with them.”
Futher He Added- ”Today some official should have come here and talked to the anganwadi workers, because many of these elderly women are also present here.The government should fulfill their demand. Government should be a little sympathetic to the women of Goa.
The workers refused to move from outside the CM’s official residence and fearing a law and order situation, police force was called in. During the arguments with officals, the protesting workers also alleged that a female worker had been manhandled by the police. ”A male constable kicked a female anganwadi worker in the stomach, ”said a protester.
